We welcome all new paddlers that want to come and give dragon boating a try.
It’s free and lots of fun!
Dragon boating is a sport for men and women of all fitness levels and for all ages from 12 upwards.
How do I get involved?
If you’d like to give dragon boating a go, please get in touch with us

When you contact us, please provide:
- Your name;
- Your email address;
- Your phone number; and
- A preferred date / time that you would like to join us for an Orientation Session (Note: we generally run these sessions in conjunction with our usual weekly training sessions)
What happens next?
When we have your details, we will:
- Confirm a time and date when you can join us for an orientation session to learn the basics and get familiar with important safety information; and
- Set you up with a Dragon Pass which will allow you to join us paddling for unlimited sessions within a four week period for free!

What’s an Orientation Session?
At your first session with us, an experienced paddler will:
- explain the basics of paddling, including paddling technique and the different roles within the boat;
- run through important safety information;
- provide you with a paddle and life jacket;
- introduce you to the rest of the crew; and
- answer any questions you have before getting out onto the water!
What to wear
You should wear the following to your Orientation Session:
- Shorts, bike pants or track pants
- T-shirt or rashie, or light weight thermal top for cooler weather;
- Aqua shoes or old sneakers (they will get wet)
What else to bring
- Drink bottle;
- Sun protection (hat, sunscreen, sunglasses);
- Towel;
- Change of clothes.
